The new San Domenico-Alpe Ciamporino gondola lift is finally here!
A latest generation gondola lift
Thanks to this major construction and refurbishment project, you can travel effortlessly up the mountain on a state-of-the-art gondola lift from San Domenico to Alpe Ciamporino. There are many benefits of this new lift, beginning with the bottom station which includes an underground car park with more than 400 covered spaces, the boarding area, and the ticket office, all in the same building.
This way, visitors can park their cars and board the lift quickly and easily! There is also a large area for shops, a panoramic restaurant, and a lounge bar with a view over Ponte Campo and Monte Leone.
At the halfway point there is a middle station, which is a unique feat of engineering featuring a tunnel that allows people to get on or off the lift to stop off at Casa Rossa, like they used to with the old chairlifts. Topping it all off, literally, is the arrival station, located in exactly the same place as the old chairlift, in a new building designed to maximise speed, even on the busiest days. In just 5 minutes, you can travel from the village to Dosso at 2,500m!
